Four-time NBA champion LeBron James has signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. He will join a roster featuring former MVP Joel Embiid, former Finals MVP Jaylen Brown, and two-time All-Star Tyrese Maxey.
Philadelphia emerged as an attractive destination for James following the acquisition of Brown in a significant trade on July 1. The 76ers were in competition with other teams such as the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Golden State Warriors, all of whom expressed interest after James announced he would not return to the Los Angeles Lakers.
